No one noticed. No one.
It was a beautiful country house setting. The bride was looking radiant, totally unaware of what had happened just hours before.
Bridesmaids fussed over her dress, the page boy and flower girl fidgetted getting bored of waiting for their big moment.
At last it came. The music started and the procession began to walk down the aisle. Still no one noticed. I said a silent prayer that no one would. After all why should they?
The only way they would have noticed is if I hadn’t been there. If I hadn’t been there to polish the grooms shoes within an inch of it’s life because he had forgotten to pack the brand new shoes he had bought for the wedding. If I hadn’t been there to tell the best man and ushers to take deep breaths and stop panicking.
